Heavier bleeding with my IUD.

I've had paragard for 2 years now and I was told by my OB at that time that I should start to notice my period shorten and lighten in a few months. Well it's been 2 years and my period is heavier and longer. I've had nights where I wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom while on my period and I have blood streaming down my legs. The length of my periods increased, but my cycle length has doubled. I'm really not sure if I should be concerned or not. I haven't had any really troubling symptoms, but I feel like I might be in denial... Help?
