How do you feel about exotic animals being used in circus shows?

I remember my grandparents taking me to circus shows when I was younger. Being young and uneducated on these animals at the time, I thought it was awesome to watch the tigers obey their “masters” and see the lions respond to whips. Now that I have as much respect and love for animals that I do, I have realized how terrible I feel that I contributed money to the type of circus show that I went to. I don’t know about any other shows, though. Never did go back. I know many people still who are diehard fans of watching shows that are known for animal cruelty and get agitated if the treatment of the animals is brought up because “it’s cool regardless”.

So, poll question: how do you feel about these animals being used in circus shows? Is it cool for your family to watch or are you against it?

Also, would you or have you taken your child to a circus show that featured these types of animals? (Lions, tigers, elephants, etc).
