Ok...look this is how herpes aka HSV works.  90% of people care the virus and  do not show.  They have no clue that they have it until one day they get a bump.  It is politely called a "cold sore", but is just a sore and has nothing to do with a "cold" other than people should act like you have one and not kiss you.  Your aunt could have kissed you with one when you were 8 and now something happened to trigger an outbreak.  So yes!  You have herpes!  I guess you weren't the only person that has ever kissed him in his entire life.

Cold sores are known as "herpes type 1" and are NOT the same as genital herpes and shouldn't be worried about. Just get some cold sore cream!
