My 5 month old girl goes to daycare twice a week. When I pick her up the woman looking after always says, “look who’s here!” And tries to make a big deal. My girl won’t even look at me let alone smile. And then when she’s in my arms she’ll smile at the caretaker.

I’m fairly certain I’m being somewhat ridiculous, but this breaks my heart. Does she like daycare better than me?? When we got home I went back to the car and grabbed the fifty bags I bring everyday to make sure she has what she needs and I thought it’s not enough and started tearing up.

UPDATE!!

I just saw that people are still commenting on this (thank you all for the kind words!) she’s 8 months now and drop offs are ok-she’ll start to whine sometimes, but the caregiver is good at distraction.

Pick ups however have completely changed! The second she sees me no matter what she’s doing she smiles and squeals and when the caregiver brings her to me she just about wiggles out of her arms to get to me!! It is hands down the best feeling-bested only maybe by those open mouth kisses she loves to give me once I get her in my arms!! 😍😍😗😘
