Should I get my nose pierced?

My parents have ALWAYS been against piercings that show on the face, tongue, anything besides lobe piercings. (I have my doubles btw). I've always wanted to get my nose pierced because I know that I would look really good with it! If I'm 18 and in college, how upset can they really get? After all, it's my body & my money...

I got mine done after I got divorced at the age of 30. I was in Vegas with my now husband and we took a photo and put it on facebook.  Not 2 minutes later my mother posted on the pic asking why the hell I got my nosed pierced and said that her and my father were disappointed in me for doing it.  I was so pissed!!!  It's my life and I am old enough to make my own choices in life and don't need their approval. Do what you want because regardless what they think it's your body and your life!

Are you ready to deal with the constant questions of having facial piercings?  Are you ready to deal with stares? Are you ready to deal with some random people going off on a rant at you having them? I love the look of my lip rings but it really gets irritating dealing with the stares/glares/lectures/questions/insults/etc. that comes along with them. And if you think you are, go around with a fake in for a few weeks. Don't take it out no matter how frustrated you may get. After all you can't just take it out and put it back in later when it can close only minutes after taking it out. I speak from experience with this issue.

My parents are the same way when I got snake bites my dad told me when he saw me he’s rip them out and that I looked stupid with a metal bar going in my lip and my mom also bribed me almost everyday to take them out

your body so you decide if you can live with it, and with your parents not liking it. When I had mine done, my mom wasn't keen on it but she just left it coz she knew it was my body and my decision. She also hates tattoos and I now have six. She totally sends me messages like "enjoy your tattoo" and yesterday even gave me a lift to the studio for my latest one. So it just shows that sometimes our parents can surprise us.

My mom was fine with everything for me, my tattoos and piercings, except for anything that showed on my face, my tongue was fine though. My dad was always ok with anything, he also has a face piercing on his eyebrow. I always wanted my lips pierced so I did it and even though my mom still said she didn’t like it she was still ok with it because I was old enough to make those choices for myself.

Totally up to you but be aware some employers may ask you to remove it or cover it for employment- depends on the industry and the jewellery you're wearing :)
