Is 6 months old too young to take a baby on an international vacation?

Great Grandpa is going to be 101 and we'd really like for him to meet our twins next summer. We'd be traveling to the UK and staying for at least a month visiting friends and family throughout. Is that too young? What age did you travel with your kids or what age would you consider?

I meant to vote "No!" We took our 8 week old to Mexico, then to Hawaii at 5 months. Go for it! 🌏🛫

I would take my daughter if I needed too, 6 months isn’t too young. & if the child is up to date with shots ( if you chose to do it ) then I think it’s fine. Talk to your doctor about ways to keep her from catching anything, that’s the only I’d worry about.

Go for it! I’ve been traveling with my son since he was itty bitty and it’s been great. He’s one now and still a great traveler. I have a friend from Germany who now lives in Alaska and she’s been taking her son all over Europe since he was about that age. They travel a lot as well.

My cousin, her boyfriend and I first took their daughter on a two week holiday when she was around 6 months. The only problem was she hated the heat, which you'd no problem with coming over to the UK lol.

for the UK that would be fine. I only answered no because some places aren't good for low immune systems, like with babies

For me it would be a no, but not because I think it’s too young of an age but because of the stress it would have caused me and DH. My baby didn’t sleep and when we finally got him into a routine I would have killed anyone or anything that tried to interfere with that routine!! My LO is 1.5 now and still doesn’t travel well. He has to have a dark room, and his noise machine to sleep so when we travel he gets his own room 😂.

The traveling itself may be difficult but once your over here there will be no problems. For what may be their only chance to meet him I would say it’s well worth the temporary stress of travel.
