Nutritionist/dietitian ?

Question

Due to excessive weight gain and being at the cut off for GD my doctor has referred me to see a nutritionist. I've always struggled with my weight and I've had issues with eating disorders for years, so I'm super nervous about this appointment. 
Have any of you gone to a nutritionist or dietitian while pregnant ? I'm not sure what to expect 😬 any advice or comments are appreciated ! 💕

I've never been to one but my aunt is one. They more or less want to talk to you about healthy eating and what is best for your body and for baby. Be up front about your body issues. They don't want to trigger anything. They will talk about meal plans and better healthier options. Come prepared with lots of questions. Like for example holidays are coming up how do you eat at parties healthfully. I've been craving X what do you suggest me to eat instead (could be missing nutrients). It'll be beneficial honestly. In my opinion all pregnant women should meet with a nutritionist so they know how to eat for their body and their needs. Bring up what you normally eat in a day and have them discuss what to swap out and what to keep.  It'll be great though no worries!

The WIC office had me see a nutritionist because I was underweight prepregnancy. They just asked me questions about my diet, gave me suggestions on what's healthiest for you and baby, etc. Be honest with them about your body issues and your diet and let them help you!! That's what they're there for!

Yes she gave me a guide of what to eat with gestational diabetes and how to know how much to eat and when. Very helpful. Let her or him know you struggle with eating issues. Not hard to follow once you get the hang of it and you'll learn what foods spike your blood sugar. You'll be fine.
