Should every person get a different punishment, regardless of the crime or outcome, because everyone is different?

The majorly of people who defend corporal punishment (CP in children) state that every child is different and some times it is needed in punishment.
   
Isn’t every human different the same as a child is different?

This made me think of racial disparities in sentencing. If the crime is the same, I do think the punishment should be the same...i.e. why does Brock Turner get 6 months in jail and Corey Batey get 15 years? Same thing with the "War on Drugs" which was really just a war on black people.  Now that it is about whites and opioids, suddenly it's a "public health crisis" and not a criminal one.

Should be based on the nature of the crime, however I believe men and women who commit the same crimes deserve equal sentencing. Female sexual predators often get half the time a man would for committing the same offense.

I mean ideally we’d move to a society that emphasizes rehabilitation and restorative justice which needs must would be individualized. 
However in that situation corporal punishment would be out the window as it’s not rehabilitory… just like spanking.

The punishment should fit the crime. There is flexibility in our judicial system to allow for different timeframes based on severity and motive already.
