Hellppp!

I've been having brown discharge before my period (it's not gooey it's just like normal discharge you always get but just brown) I'm on the patch as birth control and I always put it on at the same time which is good and I always get my period around the same time but it's just weird and I took a pregnancy test it was negative but I'm just sick of freaking out since I googled and I'm moody like my normal pms and I've been told it's probably ovulation or just old blood and it probably doesn't help that I've been sick for the past two weeks with a cold/virus and my doctor couldn't give my medicine for it because it just had to run out of your system so I've been loosing my voice of and on lol but idk someone please help and comment bc I know I'm not pregnant but I'm freaking myself out that I am so my boobs aren't sore either and it's just weird and my boyfriend checked and said everything looked and felt normal so just please help
