Do you feel polysexual people are more likely to be discounted/dismissed than other LGBTQ orientations?

Just curious as someone who’s bi/pan and starting to be more open about it. Is this actually the case or is it a myth?

I don’t think that “who faces the most erasure?” is something that can be categorised in the LGBT+ community. 
Monosexual identities (gay/lesbian/straight) do get the most visibility. And even then, gay men are more visible than lesbian women. 
Multisexual identities (bi/poly/pan) tend to face more skepticism and with that more dismissal and erasure. I would point out that society definitely has more of an understanding on bisexuality than both polysexuality and pansexuality. 
And then the Ace spectrum also faces a lot of criticism and dismissal too. 
I think it’s rather impossible to say “[insert sexuality] faces the most dismissal” because it varies constantly on who you’re talking to and who much they understand.

Yep, I've experienced biphobia from straight and gay people. I've witnessed gay people legitimately say "but what if they turn straight or cheat on me?" or "I don't want to date a bi girl because she touched a dick once". It's gross. The amount of both biphobia and transphobia within the community is a huge problem.

Sort of? I also think there’s a bit of necessary self exclusion. Like I mentally code myself as queer, but I’ve been in a monogamous straight relationship longterm for years, and don’t see myself with anyone else in the future. At this point I wouldn’t be comfortable as a representative for the LGBT+ as I don’t really deal with any issues, discrimination, harassment etc.

Not if you’re talking about the whole LGBT+ community. If you’re talking about only sexuality, maybe so in some ways. But LGBT+ isn’t just about sexuality

I’m not totally sure. I’m bisexual & I haven’t ever been very outspoken about it because of the fear of people’s reactions to it. I let my sister know but now I think she might be uncomfortable with me being at her house. Every since I told her she hasn’t really let me come over as much as I used to to see my niece. I’ve heard stories of bisexuals being excluded from certain lgbt events but it’s never happened to me because I’ve honestly never been to one. I follow BisexualRealTalk on YouTube & watching his videos really helps me.

Sorry, dumb question but I haven’t heard the term polysexual, I just looked it up and it said it’s a synonym for pansexual? Is that correct?
If so, I’d say yes because I’ve been told that there is a lot of pan and bi phobia in the community. I was talking to someone who said she was dating another woman, then that relationship ended so she started dating a dude, and people acted like her same sex relationship was just a phase.

Yes, myself included in this. If I’m honest, before I downloaded Glow, it was just straight or gay. And/or trans. All of a sudden I found myself like wtf is pan? Cis? Am I cis? What’s a cis? Oh asexual, hmm, I wonder if I’m that? Lol the list goes on. There’s so many different terms. But I’m getting the hang of what they all mean. I think. Though I’m almost certain that there’s probably another 62 terms I’ve still never heard of. Maybe it’s my own ignorance, maybe it’s lack of awareness in society. Idk, probably both.

It depends on the community. In general yes, a lot of people don’t know anything other than gay, lesbian and bi. However, those three identical also experience erasure.
