Do bisexuals tend to be less accepted than gays/lesbians?

Question

I’m bi and I have many friends both gay and straight, but no other bi people that I know. I’d like to come out, but I feel as if bi people are less accepted than even gays or lesbians, both in the straight community and the LGBT+ community. Either that they are not fully straight nor gay. But this could just be a theory and not actually true. If you are bi and/or can help me out, I’d really appreciate it.

I don’t think more so than anyone, but it’s a different type where it comes from both sides (straight and gay/lesbian). It’s frustrating to be told, especially by others of the LGBT+ community that we’re confused and need to pick, or we’re selfish, or cheaters by default etc. 
My bf’s mom is constantly telling me that I’m not really Pan/bi (I realize they’re different but I’m working within the realms of what she understands and is willing to) and that really it’s just me slowly coming out as lesbian. And it’s like really?? I’m dating your son. You walked in on us fuckin. I’m lesbian now????

I’ve heard from people who are bi say that yes, biphobia is a real problem. Alayna Fender on YouTube has a series called “I Don’t Bi It” where she talks about myths and stereotypes surrounding bisexuality and biophobia (Alayna happens to be bisexual).

I think yes. It seems that way. Less accepted in that many are told their sexuality isn’t real or just a phase, that or they seem to be overly sexualised, which isn’t acceptance 😐

I may not know much about the topic (I'm straight, cis gender) so anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong in any way. The way I see it, it seems complicated. If a woman is bi, it is seen as over sexualized, ppl consider it "hot" or just a phase. If a man is bi, it is looked at as he's gay, but doesn't want to come out completely as gay. Either way ppl seem to not take it seriously, and it's not often discussed. I do find it's less accepted bc of that reason, ppl don't seem to take it seriously.

I, as a pround bisexual, have received so much hate from both straight and gay/lesbian people. I've been made to feel like my sexuality is invalid. I just don't understand why the LGBTQA+ is not on the same side. We all recieve hate, and I think we should be there to help eachother through it- not putting eachother down.
