My baby is almost 5 months now I really wish he could eat something other than breastmilk or formula here and there but still have it of course ... Like those mashed fruit and veggie pouches the baby food at th store what age can I give him food like that?

Milk is number one source of food until a year. Talk to your doctor. Most do not recommend starting solids until 6m as their tummies cannot handle it. And you definitely start off with single foods at a time to check for allergies

If your baby is showing an interest, start with puréed fruits and veggies. I made my own because I didn’t like the store ones. When we went on vacation and used the store bought containers, my daughter got an orange tint to her skin because they all had carrots and sweet potatoes in them! 
Talk to your pediatrician about when they recommend starting, and remember only do one new thing for three days to keep an eye out for any allergies.

Why have you NOT tried food? We fed our son soft foods at 4 months per our pediatrician. He was eating almost anything by 5 months

You start with the baby Food and cereal at 6 months your baby is 4 months and can only suckle at this point. Are you worried they’re not eating enough? Should be dirty Diapers 6-8 a day if you’re worried.

Don’t start it until you get the okay from your doctor. Some get it at 4 months and others get it at 5 or 6 months. We started at 4 months per doctor orders but it’s not a huge part of our day. She’s only had a few bites here and there. Babies only need formula or breast milk for the first 12 months.

Our pediatrician said we could start feeding puréed veggies at 4 months. One of my friends started giving her daughter food from her plate at 3-4 months to get her used to spicy Indian food. Just check with your pediatrician.
