Grandma problems

When I had my son 8 years ago, we lived with my mom. I paid rent and paid her to watch my son while I worked. Three years ago we moved out, I got married and had my daughter. This whole time my mom cried about how I’m taking her baby away from her and would constantly undermine me.

Fast forward to now, she’s here because we needed her to watch the kids for three days since our usual childcare (my in laws) were out of town. She constantly rolls her eyes when we discipline the 8 year old and today she decided she was going to take him to the store and never asked us. They just got their coats on and he said “bye, grandma and I are going to the store”.

I told them to be back in an hour for dinner,she sighed and said, “well, I guess we’d better hurry, since they want to have dinner so soon”.

My husband is ready to tell her to leave, I’m just annoyed with her. She thinks she’s his parent because “I was with him more than you because you worked a lot “.

I wish we didn’t occasionally need her to watch them (She watches them 4 weeks a year).
