Baby shower disappointment

After many people asking for a baby shower we decided to have one. I spent a lot of money on making sure this was a nice baby shower for everyone to enjoy. I made a great registry didn’t put many things that were expensive and basically had the essentials. How come only 3 guests actually purchased something from my registry and everyone else gave me baby clothes that I wouldn’t even dress a doll in. 😒 I’m not trying to be ungrateful but the whole point is to get things the new parents will need and use. Now I’m out a lot of money that I could’ve just used to buy all the things I really wanted. Just very disappointed 😣. And no I did not get any gift receipts for the clothes so I’m stuck with them. If my baby never wears them I will give to charity.
