Wedding selfishness?

Is it bad that I actually want my first wedding to be special? I don't expect it to be big, but fiance and I are in California/Nevada for the week and he just wants to go to Vegas and get it over with. I'd prefer to have rings and dress up nice and have a little inexpensive ceremony. Am I being selfish? Because honestly it would be easier if I was married on several different issues we're facing right now but I don't want it rushed and made unimportant
