Running away to LA?

Okay so here’s the deal, I’m 19 and live with my mom and siblings who don’t gaf about me. I’m the “black sheep” which isn’t really a surprise because I’m the middle child etc etc But anyways I’ve made up my mind and have decided to move to LA preferably mid Jan or Feb once I get my tax refund. I’ve been looking at roommates and schools to go to, but is there anything I should know before going? Any good neighborhoods? Tips? Work? Anything helps lol and oh I do plan on leaving home at like night when they’re sleeping so they don’t bitch at me and stuff. 
Before anyone says I’m being childish for leaving them, I have depression and anxiety and my mom is the cause of it. She knows it too.....I refuse to continue being treated like shit and remain living in a toxic abusive home.

Have you tried talking to your family? If they are truly toxic to the point of you being diagnosed with depression and have anxiety issues then it's time for change. Feeling out of place at this age is normal 100%- not quite the kid anymore and also not being treated quite like an adult. LA is very very expensive I would fully suggest against starting off there!!!! I knew someone who had a full time job with not half bad pay and he still lived in a tent city! Try another city like Phoenix (my friend lives pretty comfy there, small studio apartment at $14 per hour 40 hours a week, with the ability to do extra stuff she loves like concerts or collecting or adding to her professional make up collection...plus University of Arizona is there too, Vegas and LA are only a few hours away too), or a smaller town nearby a bigger city. Seek work in the area that pays well enough to support yourself. That amount depends on the local cost of living, which you would have to research on. If you want any benefits such as SNAP for food to help you out, look up the requirements for eligibility. As for school, look into grants, scholarships, and loans. Fill out a FAFSA once you figure out what schools you are interested in and apply to. NOTHING is wrong with a small college- cheaper for sure and trust me companies don't give a damn where you went to school as long as you graduated. Look at any scholarships or internships that could help you within the school/department youre a student in too. Most students overlook those smaller awards. Overall I would say make sure your decision is the best for your situation you are in currently, and then plan ahead. Worse thing to do is to rush and then be stuck with nothing to eat or not having roof over your head etc etc...because you're 19. Mom is 100% not responsible for you anymore, and can turn you away to the streets instead of letting you back into her home. And if she is as horrible as you make her sound with not giving a fuck about you, then that's easily a possibility if you need that kind of help in the future.

LA is a terrible choice. As someone else mentioned it is dangerous in parts, hard to find work, and expensive. Also human trafficking is real and young women especially runaways are particularly vulnerable. Please reconsider and execute a move responsibly and with a good Support system in place.

LA is super expensive. Even with roommates, some people have a hard time paying their bills. I live in LA and although I like it, it is a bit dangerous as well and very busy. You might have to live with a shit load of roommates to make it through. Nothing is cheap here. Again, money is a big issue here In LA. I just hope you are aware of this. People find it gross, but personally I like living here because there is always something new everyday. But please, make sure you are financially stable in order to move here.

There’s nothing wrong with you doing your research before you make such a major step. Most people that attempt to move out usually have to go back home, when the harsh reality of bills and life hit. I’m born and raised in nyc and everyone says it’s an expensive place to live. And at times I feel it. But I have lived alone since the day I left home. And now many many years later I have My live in bf move in w me couple years ago. I think you should stay and save save save save. Before you go. So that you can be really ready and never have to ask to go back home due to money issues. Wish you luck girl☺️

Find a job early and then move.
LA is expensive from what I have heard and without a job you're going to regret the move and have zero security to fall back on.
I'd just sit them down and tell them you're leaving when you have everything sorted.
