Putting baby down without burping?

If baby falls asleep while feeding is it bad to put him to bed without burping him?

Answer

It’s not recommended because the baby can spit up while sleeping but I do it at nighttime feedings. If I burp my lo in the middle of the night while she’s sleeping she will wake up and stay up for a couple hours I had to learn that the hard way. So when she falls asleep while eating I don’t burp her, I do wait a few mins to lay her down though. But of course your going to get comments where people are going to say it’s very bad, but honestly it’s not. My baby is fine

We stopped burping our daughter when she was about 2 months old. Not purposely. We just slowly stopped doing it for some reason. She’s now almost 6 months old and it’s never caused issues. She rarely spits up and she burps on her own when needed.

My baby doesn’t burp easily. She keeps it in for some reason, and loves to suddenly fall asleep while on the boob. I used to feel terrible about just holding her for a few minutes, then laying her down.

I didnt burp her until she started sitting up on my lap alot around 5 months then they would just slip out while she was sitting otherwise bed feeds no way am i waking her up for burping lol. she hasnt ever really thrown up in bed either so it works. Maybe just try and see if your baby throws up or not ?

If mine falls asleep before burping i just lay him on my chest for 20-30 minutes so he’s upright.

Mine was virtually impossible to burp when he would fall asleep. So I put him down without. It didn't seem to cause any issues.
