Do you believe in bigger or smaller government??

I see a lot of post about “should ___ be illegal” or “should he government ___”. It got me wondering what people’s views on larger government are.
I very much believe in having a smaller government. What are your views? Where do you draw lines on what laws are acceptable and what is overstepping??

I’m going to go against the trend here and say  larger. I support a strong central government that provides comprehensive services.

Government is one thing we definitely need less of. I do believe in the importance of having a smaller government. I do not believe in congressional leaders having so much power over its people.

It always amazing to me to see all the hatred toward our government officials floating around on here, then see those same people want to make that very government even bigger and more powerful. Sure some social services are great and necessary, but almost everything the government runs is corrupt, inefficient, and quickly outdated on every level. I also think too much government infringes the very rights they claim to protect. It’s always just an election away for someone you don’t like to seize that power. Smaller government all the way.

Ok so if you look at it in countries where the government is in control of everything, is that how you want to live. That is a communist type of government. when you let the government have more control over things that's what it's going to come to because they will keep taking and having power over what us the people allow them to have. the government itself is not all bad it provides order so too little involvement, like way back when we first started out even up til the old western days where you could just kill anyone in the streets that's not good either. you need a balance where the government plays it role to keep the peace but not go over board with government involvement that it starts taking away the rights of our citizens. unfortunately that's where everyone has an opinion and not everyone can agree on that when opinions dont always agree. That's where things get tricky.

I think the government is just fine as it is. The issue is the crooked and closed minded people who do things for their own benefit. We don't want it bigger to just have it diluted (weak) and useless and not too small to have a handful of people govern everything.
