What clothes does your newborn sleep in?

I stress so much about warm enough vs too warm and SIDS risks. What does your newborn wear to bed?

Depends where you live. Good rule of thumb I have heard is LO should wear what you're wearing plus one extra layer (I would equate your blanket to your LO's sleepsack.)

I highly recommend one of these halo swaddles, I’ve been using them for my son dice he was a couple weeks old because I also wasn’t sure what was too much or too little clothing for bed... so what I do is put a footie pajama & wrap him up in this! It’s perfect, it keeps them on their back as well & that reduces SIDS & suffocation 😊

Little footie sleepers but we had a heat wave and I just laid them down in their diapers when it was super hot. Good rule of thumb is if you’re warm, they’re warm. If you’re cold, they’re cold.

I live in central cali so it's never freezing but it does get chilly at night in the winter. Fleece or regular footie pajamas will be our go to. we also bought a halo sleep sack! hopefully babe likes it lol

When my son was a newborn last fall, we did a onesie, fleece footie pajamas, fleece sleepsack, and a blanket tucked around him from the waist down if we thought he needed it. And we’d have a fan going (not pointed at him) for air circulation/white noise. We live where nights in the fall/winter get well below freezing.

My babe was in footie pajamas or a sleeper with a blanket wrapped around her lower half, but my house is always SO hot.

My house is poorly insulated, and it’s around 20°-30° outside, so my son wears a fleece sleeper, and a hat, and he’s swaddled every night, and we wrap a second blanket around his bottom half (from the waist down)
