About that post & the recent deletions

Hi Everyone,

I know you're frustrated and angry. I wanted to share some of what we've been doing behind the scenes. 

The trouble tonight started with several posts attacking another user. When our admins saw your reports about this, they initiated an investigation. We take trolling very seriously, and when someone creates an account to harass another user, we always follow through to determine who is behind it, because we don't want them to be able to keep popping up again and again. This can take time. 

Meanwhile, things started to get a bit out of hand here in Controversy Corner, and there were a lot of posts breaking the rules going on. (Complaints about moderation should always be directed to support@glowing.com. We believe these conversations are best held one-on-one. When they happen in the Community, misinformation and misunderstandings tend to run away faster than the admins can set the record straight. As was already happening)

We wanted time to finish our investigation before we started responding, so we did remove all posts related to the issue, complaints about moderation, and the like, and started putting holds on accounts when people made it clear that they would simply repost anything that was removed. We just needed a little bit more time before we were able to address your concerns directly. We'll be responding to everyone's emails about this soon. 

Eventually, our technical team and Rachel were able to complete their investigation, which is why we're able to post about this now.

The person who was being targeted and the person doing the targeting were ONE AND THE SAME.

We have definitive proof of this now. This was nothing more than an elaborate- and effective- trolling attempt.  We know how upsetting it is to see someone you see as a friend get attacked, so the strong responses here are a credit to the friendships you all have made. Nonetheless, we still need everyone to follow the Glow Community rules. 

We ask for your patience as we continue to work through dealing with all your reports and emails.
