Would a doctor be willing to tie my tubes?

Question

I’m 23, I️ have 1 daughter and I’m pregnant with me second.
My husband and I only want 2 kids, and that’s not changing. I️ don’t care for birth control, I’ve never found a method I️ like. Do you think a doctor would be willing to tie my tubes after I give birth?
I’m in California if that makes a difference.

My doctor said she'll do it after 2 babies or if pregnancy would be life threatening due to medical issues.

In Oregon you have to be 21 or have 3+ kids.

it really depends on the doctor. I was 22 (almost 23) when I had it done, but I had 3 children. I recommend you wait at least a year after this one is born to make the decision though. I regretted getting it done within a year. You never know where your life will take you and we always thought we could just adopt if we changed our minds. turns out that adoption is an expensive and time-consuming process and it ended up making more sense for us to reverse the tubal. I am now 30 and expecting my 4th. The reason I suggest the 1 year mark is that pregnancy and the first year can be very hard on both parents, physically and emotionally and that may very well influence your decision now. I'm 26 and wanted mine tied. Just had my second and my husband has two of his own so 4 total. My doctor refused.

uhm heard you need at least 3 kids, ask around at your dr offices.

my mom got her tubes tied right after having me. so you should be able to make sure to ask your doctor

most don't do it even if u have 4 kids, until Ur 30. some even 35. I'm 33 and have one child. absolutely NOT want another.  twisted vertebre in my back,  and I'm barely able to keep up with one child. my husband and I both agree,  no more kids, not now, not later,  not ever.  and 4 different obs have turned me down from giving me clearence for having tubes tied. my husband is considering vasectomy,  because he's 41 and qualifies for it.

unfortunately probably not. because you're still young and they will say you may change your mind. even if you're set in stone that you dont want anymore kids they probably still won't. but its worth asking.
