BLEEDING? Please help!!

I just had what I believed to be a yeast infection. Had all the symptoms down to a t so I treated it with Monistat 3. Right as I began noticing my symptoms, I was experiencing pain during intercourse and started bleeding after penetration. I also started bleeding the first time I inserted the Monistat applicator. I finished the treatment no problem and it's been about 3 days since my treatment ended and I've had no more issues!! However, today I've noticed a bit of a bloody discharge. Not actively bleeding though. I started birth control about 2 months ago and I've heard spotting can be common the first few months. Do you think this is my birth control or possibly something greater than a yeast infection? I'm clueless and a bit freaked out!!
