Body modifications 💉

What are your views on body modification? For example scarification or reshaping of the ears/ tongue. I can't help but find it off-putting, but a family friend has recently gotten scarification and is looking to get her ears done next year. I'm trying to be non judgemental but the issue I have is that she has mental health issues and the person she paid to do it was a stranger on the internet. I feel there should be an some sort of process before you get something so permanent done, and many of the people performing these mods are unlicensed. What are your views?
