Ever broken up with someone you still love?

So I think I need to break up with my boyfriend, but I still love him and it makes this decision extremely difficult. Has anyone else had to break up with someone that you still love? How did you get through it?

Yes it’s life. Some people grow apart, some relationships are great but still aren’t meant to be. If you’re no longer happy or second guessing it then maybe he’s not the one and it is time to leave. I have a really close guy friend that I dated for two years in high school. When HS was over I decided I want to leave the relationship behind and figure out the rest of my life. So we broke up. But loved each other enough to remain friends.. to this day, 5 years later we’re both in long term relationships and still bestfriends! So if you want to keep the friendship there it’s very possible!

I pushed past the love stuff and realized what I needed , I put myself before him and it changed my life, I was happier and yes your always going to have a spot for that love in ur heart if u end it while u love him so just adjust your mind to that and wrap your head around the idea that you matter more .

I did. I had to leave while he was away for the weekend and fly literally across the country to go back to my mum and dads. It was still messy but if I had stayed he would have convinced me to stay with him. And he was so toxic and I was miserable. I did love him for almost a year afterwards though.

Yes. I have broke up with many people I still loved. It was hard but it was what was best for me. You can do it and it does get easy
