Lost big chunk of mucus plug & now I have cramps?

I know losing the mucus plug doesn’t mean a thing! But about 30 minutes ago I went to the bathroom and noticed I had lost a pretty big chunk of my mucus plug (NO blood with it). I shrugged it off since I’ve been losing little pieces of it since around 18 weeks. But about 5 minutes ago I began feeling period like cramps. They’re really low and dull and seem to be coming from where I would envision my cervix to be. Just wondering if this normal following losing a big chunk of the mucus plug? I never had this when I was losing little chunks. I’m 35+1.
