Should I meet him?

Hey ladies, a bit of a conundrum here. So a bit of backstory: I’m 17 he’s turning 23 ( saying ages makes it sound more, but it’s only 5 years). We met online through a friend and we’ve been talking everyday without fail. We just get on so well. We make each other laugh and have the same sort of humour taste. I have already told him that I am unsure about taking things further with us because of our age gap, but he’s said that he has no problem being with a 17 year old. Recently he’s been talking about meeting up, which I have told him that I don’t think that is a good idea, and he isn’t pressuring me to do anything.
There’s a part of me that wants to meet up, but there’s something that is holding me back. It may just be because I haven’t been in a relationship for a while so I just want someone to have close.
I’d really appreciate it if you can give me some advice which will lead me in the right direction! Thanks 💜💜

Meeting up is a little sketchy in my opinion . You have to think , he's 23 .. he's probably in the upperclassmen for college and you're only what a junior ? In highschool . If he's serious about starting something , seeing you or not seeing you won't matter . I say don't meet up , and in 6 months if he still hasn't left , consider meeting up somewhere public ! Don't get too carried away honey

Nothing good will come of this! I have a 17 year old daughter and if I found out a grown man met up with her, I'd contact the police in a heartbeat. (I can only imagine what her dad would do to the guy). He is a grown man, you are a child... end of story!

my boyfriend and i are 5 years apart. when we first met he was 22 and i was 17. because of that gap (since it would be illegal) we waited to date until i turned 18 three months later. i don’t know how similar my situation was to yours, but i was already in college at 17 and i think that helps when having a relationship with an older guy. i’ve always liked older guys because i’ve always been mature for my age. we’re now 19 and 24 and there’s absolutely nothing weird about our age gap, my parents were also 5 years apart so once you turn 18 i’d day that part is completely fine. as far as meeting him, my boyfriend and i actually met on tinder so we talked on the phone a while before and facetimed a lot. i think we talked for 2 months before meeting. make sure you’re both completely comfortable and make sure to meet in a public place during the day just to be safe. just wait until you’re fully comfortable

I’m 17 and 3 years away from my boyfriend. Parent consent is something you should think about because it is technically illegal, but in my opinion it shouldn’t be. If you are too worried about that then just talk to him until you turn 18 and he should be able to wait. But if you’re just scared to meet him thats probably a bad sign. There’s always things like Skype and stuff if you want to see him and talk to him before actually meeting.
