do you think he cheated

so one night my bf told me he was going to hang out with a few buddies that was picking him up at a 7/11 down the street. he took a shower and looked all good he told me he would be back in like 2 hours. but ended up staying gone for 10 hours with out a call or text letting me know he was ok..... I called all his friends he was supposedly be with and no-one seen him. he finally said he was hanging out with an old high school girlfriend in a motel all night drinking . Right here tells me he had to do more then talk right? or am I over reacting. i love him dearly
