Alright, so I have this crush on my best guy friend. He recently asked me to go to his Christmas party for work. He was so sweet about it too. I asked if I was supposed to "be someone", because he'll pretend to be my bf if there's a creep. He said that people would assume I was his gf, and if I was uncomfortable to tell him. He's so sweet, and I really like him, but I don't want to mess up what we have. What do y'all think?

Update 12-15-2017:

Alright, so, tonight was the Christmas party...it was amazing!!! His brother and his date carpooled with us, but we sat in the back. I have extreme anxiety about driving and the crush knows this, so he held my hand the entire way to the restaurant. Then when we got there he was all protective of me from his male co-workers. AND THEN, I was tired on the way back, so I laid my head on his shoulder, but he's a skinny guy, so I laid my head on his leg (took up the entire back seat), and he just pet my hair. He wasn't weird about it or anything. Course, I got cold and wrapped his arm around me. But ugh! I'm just so happy. And I'm seeing him again tomorrow for his family game night. Not to mention, he laughs at all my dirty jokes.
