What age did you start weening your baby to food?

My girl is 5 months old today and I haven’t started to ween her yet, but on the 20 weeks old notification on here it was talking about them eating solid food by now, but I thought 6 months is the time you should start? I know some people start as early as 3 months, but I don’t feel like she needs that extra food yet as she seems quite satisfied with just milk. What age did you start to ween your baby? Thanks in advance :)

Our ped said we’d discuss at 4 month shots, but she has never given the all clear before 4 months. As early as 4, some babies choose to wait until 8-12m. I’d go off of your pediatricians recommendation, not an app.

I started at 5 1/2 months because my Ped recommended it for my daughter but 6 months is typical. I do baby led weaning and skipped purées. Her first food was avocado. I also don't do baby cereal because its just a filler. milk or formula should be their main source of nutrition the first year, solids start as just a fun experience to try food and should be given after milk.

Our pediatrician said oatmeal cereal can be started (just a couple spoonfuls at the beginning of a meal) at 4-5 months if they have good head control, he said try offering it and see if they force the spoon out with their tongue, that reflex needs to go away for them to swallow well...he said no fruits/veg until 6 months...digestive system isn’t ready for that

We stated giving my son solids at 4 months. But only a bite or two. By six months he was eating with no problem.
