Help Writing Card

I'm studying to be a teacher, and this was my first semester assigned to a classroom. Wednesday is my last day. I wanted to give my mentor teacher a thank-you gift. She LOVES cats, and her classroom is cat themed. I also love cats, so we spent a lot of lunch breaks talking about our cats. So I made her a cat pot-holder. I want her to know that I MADE it, but I don't know what to write on the card to point out that I made it without sounding like I'm bragging or anything. Any ideas?
