I don't feel pretty enough for my boyfriend. I need advice please!
My boyfriend and I have been dating for almost 5 months now and it has been amazing. I think he is an incredible person and he is honestly everything I've been looking for in a man. We are very serious about each other and he has made plans for me to meet his parents (they live out of state), attend his brother's wedding with him and we have even discussed moving in together within the next year.
I know he loves me, and he always tells me I'm beautiful. However, one day I commented about a pretty girl at a party we were at and I jokingly said "all of the girls here are prettier than me and will probably steal you away from me." He replied by saying "no way babe, the only people I think are prettier than you are celebrities."
I'm sure he didn't mean this maliciously, but it still bothered m
e a lot and now I feel like I have to measure up to the beauty standards of a celebrity.
I have included a picture of myself so you guys know what I look like. I totally don't think I'm pretty enough for my boyfriend given that he likes women like Jessica Alba, Salma Hayek and Emily Ratajkowski. I'm not glamorous like that, I'm a bit of a nerd and more of a "girl next door".
I feel like him making that comment is basically a way of him saying he doesn't find me attractive. What do you think? Your advice is greatly appreciated.
