Would you Cloth diaper?

Question

after seeing the cost of diapers eith your first child, would you Cloth diaper with your second?  or do you see how much work laundry and everything is with your first and don't want to add extra work?

My hatred of laundry and my weak stomach will never let me cloth diaper 😂

I get fecal material on me daily as a vet. All my work clothes are washed in near boiling water that’s mixed with large amounts of bleach to kill any bacteria. I also only wash my work clothes in a separate washing machine- I just dont want to potentially expose my family to something nasty. I’d have to apply the same procedure if I was to cloth diaper. Otherwise I’d feel like I was putting my kid at risk for potential infections and exposure to other bacteria. A normal wash isn’t considered clean by a medical standpoint for contaminated clothing. But, the amount of bleach I’d use would be potentially harmful to my baby. So no. I will never cloth diaper. Diapers are double bagged and generally tossed in with medical waste in my house. I might be a bit overboard, but better safe than sorry in my opinion.

I’ve had 3 children. My first two were 18 months apart and I had two in diapers for an entire year. I also have a full time + career.
I cloth diapered. One size snap diapers. I got nothing fancy. I didn’t find it difficult. I saved us a ton of money. It wasn’t a huge hassle. We did use huggies nighttime diapers at night because my boys were heavy wetters, but during the day, I cloth diapered

I spent a total of 204$ on my cloth diapers whilst watching non-cloth users have to go through tons of money and trash. There was no issue “scraping” poop as it usually just fell off he diaper into the toilet and when it didn’t we had the shower spray hose connected to the side of the toilet where we sprayed it off before putting it in the laundry. We used BumGenious 2.0 back then.

I’ve tried it and really didn’t save any money.. I have tons of brand new and used ones from when I used them with my sons but I’m not planning on using them this time that’s for sure!

I wanted to cloth diaper with my first, but as we are living in an apartment we decided it would be a mess and that we would try with our second in the future.. OK thats what I thought beforeee having a kid. Now that I've dealt with a dirty diaper every feed, I have second thoughts big time. My LO is just 11 weeks. Maybe it gets easier when the amount of dirty diapers get less, so that cloth diaper is doable. But for now I think I'll just use disposables with my second the first months, anddd maybe do cloth later on.

Honestly I do so much laundry without cloth diapering, it's only me, my husband and our 5mo old. I don't know if I could also scrape poop off of a cloth and wash that too. I just don't have time or patience. Plus he's showing signs of being mobile, so I'm going to be chasing after him too too haha. I don't need extra work!

I did cloth diaper and I loved it. That was 9 years ago. I will cloth diaper when I finally conceive again.
