Pregnancy with an IUD

Hey ladies,

I’ve had my IUD since August of 2016. Throughout the whole month of November I have had such a weird cycle. I’ve spotted for about 6 days and on Monday I woke up in the most excruciating pain ever along with some heavy bleeding. I finally went into the doctor and my pregnancy test came back positive. I’ve been the IUD for over a year now and this was just so surprising to me and my boyfriend. I went into the obgyn today to see where my hcg levels are at and to have my IUD removed and they think I was about 8-9 weeks pregnant. With all the symptoms I’m having they believe I am miscarrying. If it turns out that my pregnancy is progressing, we will have an abortion. Im just posting now because I need some words of encouragement and to hear other woman’s stories. I also want others to know that no birth control is 100% effective. I don’t want any judgement here, my boyfriend and I are doing what we believe is best for our situation.
