Should you date in high school?

I dated in high school so I’d be a hypocrite if I said no but I do feel that girls tend to make relationships a main priority where high school is the time to focus more on education and not so much about boyfriends.

I think high school is a time to figure out how to navigate the world when you’re in a safe place. So yeah i think it isn’t a problem for people to date in high school as long as they know that they need to put school first because their education is what’s most important. Most high school relationships don’t last very long but the ones that do can be great.

My husband told me he liked me when I was 15, but I told him I want going to date until 18. (Even though I had a crush on him for over a year at that point). Best decision of my life. He was a great guy and decided to stick around that whole time. Instead of getting all romantic, I got to focus on being his friend, and becoming each other's best friends. I got to spend time getting to know his family, and I didn't have to worry about the physical side of a realtionship. Then, on my 18th birthday, he surprised me and took me out to eat, bought me flowers, and wrote me a poem. We dated for 1.5 years, got engaged, and married before year two!

I began dating my first boyfriend at the end of high school, we’ve been together 2.5 years. High school relationships can be meaningful but it’s important to remember that school and education should come before dating. Teenagers are still growing and changing rapidly, finding out who they are and where they fit into the world. It might be better to leave dating until later years, 17-19, by then most people have matured and are better at communicating their feelings, emotions etc.

I've dated in high school and neither of the two relationships ended well. The first one never actually cared about me even though I chased him for a year. I loved the second, but I knew it wasn't going to work anymore after a while. I'm in college now and I met my third here. Dating in high school is okay, and it is a good lesson. Keep in mind that marrying your high school sweetheart is rare. It's amazing if you did, but most of the time it will fall apart. I learned a lot about people through how I was treated. I also found the courage to leave when I wasn't happy anymore. So yes, dating in high school is okay. If you have to break up with someone, it's not the end of the world because there are plenty of other people who will appreciate you.

I would say depends. I had a friend and she was dating a guy. she never focuses on school and that did showed up on her grades. But me I was a straight A student. I started dating In 7th grade. I am a senior and we are still together. And no one knew that because I still kept my grades up. I still have my straight As and do good on my tests. So I can't say no. But you have to look at every part of it.

I’m not saying you SHOULD I’m saying yes if you want to and your ready and honestly I never dated high school boys just wasn’t my thing but I met my husband my junior year of high school and he was in the military I was just the type that was into it older guys but you should have fun while your in high school you only live once if the relationship works out great if not then it’s okay you’re still young and have your whole entire life ahead of you
