Take Me out of the Oven because I’m DONE
So I was at the ER from 2pm to 5:30pm and then transferred to a larger hospital an hour away to get a picc line put in as ordered by my obgyn. Was there from 6pm-11:30pm. This hospital said they can’t do the picc line unless they try an IV first and it’s a last resort since it’s invasive. Which I understand, but being stuck with 14 needles (and blowing 14 veins) in two hospital trips (8 last Wednesday & 6 yesterday) is pretty invasive to me. But I let them do their thing and after bringing in an anesthesiologist and ultrasound machine they found one final vein that they hadn’t blown and that they had a chance with. Which is great but what happens if I do this again in a week? My obgyn specifically wanted to do a picc line because I had been in multiple times for dehydration. And to top it all off I’ve had three separate doctors try prescribing Diclegis to me and I’ve had to turn it down repeatedly because even with my insurance it’s $40 out of pocket. My dad finally said we’ll try it and he’ll cover the cost if it keeps me out of the ER but if it doesn’t he will be pretty pissed and so will I. I’ve already tried the two medications that Diclegis is made up of but I’m keeping an open mind and trying it for the first time tonight. Until then it is the zofran that my actual obgyn prescribed just yesterday morning because she felt it was the only thing that would help me. But because the Triage doctor wants me to take Diclegis first I’m giving it a shot. 🙃 prayers and good vibes for my sanity please 💖
