Amoxicillin!?

Hi ladies. I have a sinus infection that feels like an elephant is sitting on my skull- my mother and younger brother both have the flu and despite my efforts to keep away from them I think I got the virus from them and mine is a severe sinus infection. My regular doctor prescribed amoxicillin and said it's completely safe for baby but just wondering what you ladies think and if you have any natural remedies I can try first or if you think it's ok to start the antibiotics.
