Baby Girl is here!
This is a week late but oh well. I went in last Sunday for an induction at 39 weeks, I had gestational diabetes and the Dr wanted to induce. I arrive at the hospital and get hooked up to iv and started having contractions before they gave me the pitocin. Turns out I was in early labor. They checked me and I was almost 3 cm so they start the pitocin and shortly after the contractions were coming every 3 mins and more painful. After two hours my Dr came In and broke my water. Once my labor started progressing and I got my epidural my blood pressure began to drop and the baby was getting stressed with the contractions. The nurse suspected a pinched cord or it being around baby’s neck based on the monitor. Me and hubby started to get worried, eventually it was almost time to push so the Dr decided to take me off epidural to help me push and feel the contractions. I pushed for an hour and it was so hard turns out baby was face up and the cord was around her neck so she had a hard time getting under my pubic bone. When she came out she was stunned and had to be taken to NICU for two hours. It was scary because she wasn’t crying at first then I didn’t get to hold her or see her till over two hours later. Luckily my husband was with her and updating me and sent me pictures and videos. Turns out she was stunned and they needed to regulate her breathing and heart rate. Thank god she was ok, we stayed in the hospital an extra day to make sure she was good. She’s such a great baby eats well and I’m so in love with her. Meet Sofia Elizabeth she was born 8lbs 1oz 20 1/4 inches.
