Would you take matters into your own hands?

*there will be movie spoilers* So there's been movies like Prisoners, and Secret in their eyes. In those movies their kids are abducted/ killed and the parents did not get justice through the legal system so they took it upon themselves to seek justice for their kids. In Prisoners Hugh Jackman's character tortures the man who abducted his daughter, desperately trying to find answers on her whereabouts. In The other movie Julia Roberts' character imprisoned the man who killed her daughter, and kept him prisoner in her back shed. If someone harmed your kid or family members, and got to walk free, would you take matters into your own hands to get justice? Or would you just let it go?

If I didn’t get justice through the legal route then probably yes. But I’d rather pay someone to do it than me myself!

If anyone harmed my kid in any way possible your death is inevitable and more than likely if the courts didn’t do anything then I’m doing it.
I don’t forgive for those kinds of things.

My brother in law was murdered in 2016. It took the police a long time to arrest, and in the mean time the only thing that kept my SO and his other brother from going to find him themselves, was that their mom said not to. She said, don't make his mother feel what I'm feeling. She sobbed in the parking lot where he was killed saying she forgave him for what he did to her son. It was by far the worst thing id ever seen, and the most gracious simultaneously and Id like to hope I could have such a mindset in a situation like that.

Honestly I probably wouldn’t. I would be absolutely enraged, but I don’t think I have it in me to look evil in the face like that and torture or keep them captive. I feel like I’d be too scared.

My kids are my world and if someone touched them in any form better believe my ass would be out for blood. I am bi polar and when i get mad i see red for a very long time! If the person went free I'd find and fuck them up I'm one crazy bitch

Never hope to be in that situation, so I could never really say what I would or wouldn’t do. 
I probably wouldn’t take matters into my own hands. 
Although, I do find it satisfying to watch those movies where they take justice into their hands. 
My favorite one is Law Abiding Citizen.

No. 
1. I don’t physically, emotionally, or mentally have it in me to kill someone. I did at one point with my abusive ex, but after working past that I genuinely do not have it in me anymore. For anything. I can hold anger, hate, and vitriol but I can’t kill someone. 
2. I don’t want to inflict that pain on another. I would be distraught but I think that even in a state of distress I would think what if they have someone. 
3. I don’t think it would be what my kid would want. As a personal thing, I think that my child would want better for me. It’s the least I could do to live the rest of my life as best I can for them. 
4. My bf would probably have already beat the guy tbh. Or his dad. Inexcusable of course, wholly illegal, but based off of his dad’s past behavior I would not be surprised. My bf is more gray area. I couldnt say for sure. 
His dad though🤷🏻‍♂️. My bf’s mom had an ex that was a douche, call him bob, and bob tailgated she and the dad almost entirely from an hour away to their home where the lil kids are (stalker). So the dad hit his breaks causing the guy to hit the car and come off his motorcycle, got out of the car, smashed his face against the trunk a few times before telling him next time he sees him he’ll kill him. The guy never pressed charges:/. It’s for that reason, the whole “I will kill you if you harm my people” thing that I am certain my bf’s dad would either beat or kill whoever took the life of his grandkid. 
I’d like to end that with I do not condone any violence or vigilantism. How I feel is one thing or how others feel, but as far as law is concerned I’m not out to violate that law and I would try my hardest to prevent anyone else from doing so.
