So my best friend likes this guy and she’s been crushing on him for a while and i always tell her that he’s hers but recently my teacher moved him next to me so we talk a lot more than my best friend talks to him and i’m getting feelings for him. He doesn’t know that my best friend likes him so he’s kinda flirty with me. Ughhh i just don’t know what to do, i feel like i’m a bad friend but i can’t help to like him.

You can’t call dibs on people, so it’s not like he’s hers. I don’t know why girls do this.He’s not her ex or boyfriend or anything. And if she wasn’t in the running to be his girlfriend in his mind then you’re not a bad friend. Just talk to your friend and tell her how you feel. You shouldn’t let a a boy come between you if it will upset her that much. However, at the same time, she’s really immature if she lets a small school crush come between you guys because the guy didn’t like her. Not everyone a person likes is going to like them back, so you can’t just claim them as only your crush. That’s just the way the world works. Just talk to your friend and you all need to both look at it from each other’s perspectives.

Guys are not worth stressing over when you're in school. She's your best friend. Don't ruin that over a boy. Trust me, when I was in middle school my best friend and I had some awful fights over boys and it was NOT worth it. If she likes him and you know this, don't ruin it for her. My friend liked a boy and I just kind of liked him. She didn't tell him she liked him and I danced with him at the school dance and my friend cried all night because he liked me and I danced with him knowing my friend liked him so much. In the end, she was my BFF and I felt like shit for making her so upset. She was my sister and he was some random boy who we had a stupid crush on. Boys don't mean much when your a teenager but your BFF could be with you for life if you keep the friendship real and loyal.
