CPS steals children for money!!!

You have no idea how many times I heard that while working as a child abuse investigator. I don't know where this myth came from or how it all started, but there has never been anything so untrue. I saw this today and thought I'd share:

The only "bonuses" I ever got for removing children were: #1 Tons of Paperwork, and #2 The possibility that maybe that child will be safe for a little while... until the judge decides to send them back home prematurely and then they are abused or neglected again while CPS gets the blame for the judges decision. It's cool though. It takes some thick skin to do a job that absolutely NO ONE appreciates.
