Did Celexa work for your anxiety & what did it do for you weight wise?

I am taking celexa for anxiety and depression. I have been overweight for a while now and have heard that celexa will make you gain weight but I have also heard it can help you lose. I’m just curious as to what others have experienced.

I've been on celexa for years now and I've neither gained or lost weight. if you're concerned about it... talk to your doctor. I just keep track of when and how much I eat. so the next time I'm hungry, I'll know if it's just the  munchies or not.

Most mood altering medications will have a weight gain warning. That being said I took Celexa for about 6 months, and other than it making me a fucking bitch I had no other side effects.
Then again I’ve been on almost every psych med in the book and haven’t gained any weight. I stayed at 100lbs right up until I got pregnant, stopped all of my meds and was gaining baby weight. I guess we will see after my daughter is born if off the meds I gain weight or not.
But I’ve never had weight issues with psych meds. If it even happens to one person in the group of people they test the medication on then they have to list it as a possible side effect. That being said, weight gain is a pretty common side effect.

I have been on it off and on for a few years and always gain some weight. It also makes me sleep at least 10 hours with each pill I take.
