Do you let your children have sleep overs?
I have an eight month old daughter and I guess I’ve never thought as far ahead as sleep overs with other girls in depth before, because my hairdresser was telling me today about how it has come out that the 13 year old brother of a girl my hairdresser’s 10 year old daughter went to school with was teaching whatever girls slept over (as in his 10 year old sister’s friends) how to perform blow jobs on him. And then another woman in the salon told a story about how a child’s father was busted for molesting the friends that his daughter brought home for sleepovers.
Now, I was allowed to sleep over at friends houses as a child and teenager, but only if my parents knew my friend’s mum and dad. And now I’m questioning what I will do when my daughter is older and asking to sleep over at friends houses. I mean even if I know her friends parents, it’s kinda like well how well do you reaaaally know them? I don’t think you can really trust anyone with your kid, can you? You just never know what their real thoughts or desires are, right?
So I want to know, do you or will you let your children sleep out? And if so, what conditions do you have to at least reduce the risk of something bad happening?
