Does someone’s relationship history make you question the creditably of their relationship advice?

EX: if someone has been divorced twice, would you still listen to their marriage advice 
EX: if someone is single, would you question the validity of their relationship advice?
Why/why not?

I'm one of the few who said no. Here's a few reasons why:
1) My single friends have more of an ability to look at things the logical way. They aren't blinded by love or their feelings. They can see things the way they truly are in a relationship. 
2) My divorced/separated friends have the ability to tell me what it is that went so wrong. It's a lesson learned. They are great at giving advice on what not to do. 
3) Just because someone has been in a long term marriage doesn't mean they always know what they're doing. Some people choose to stay after being cheated on, lied to, and abused. However, they may not reveal this information to you because they know it makes them look stupid. So they'll just tell you ways to "get over" the bad without telling you how bad it actually was. 
With that said, I also wouldn't listen to someone with ZERO relationship experience. But I definitely don't hold it against them if it didn't work out in some way.

Yes absolutely it does. I mean, I'm not rude, I wouldn't cut them off mid-sentence and say "thanks but no thanks, you have crappy advice." Lol. I just smile, nod, and say thanks for your thoughts. And then ignore it. Lol

It depends. Just bc you are divorced doesn't mean you are a bad partner, maybe they got cheated, abused, or their ex changed in a negative way. It may not be their fault, and it doesn't discredit their advice. Single ppl actually usually have some good relationship advice bc they are looking from an outside perspective and sometimes you need that. Just bc someone has been married for 20 years doesn't make their advice more valuable. You don't know what kind of relationship a person has behind closed doors. I hear any side's advice, but I know bad advice when I hear it and I don't have to follow it.

For sure.____.  As in I listen to everyone’s relationship advice because every situation is unique and where one couple divorced and has bad advice from it another may have perfectly healthy advice from their divorce. 
My mom and dad got divorced and their advice is really legitimate because of it. In fact if they had stayed together their marriage would be shitty and they’d hate each other for it and therefore their advice would be shit😐.

It depends on what their advice is. If it’s common sense, who care? Fresh perspective never hurt anyone. And taking advice from someone with actual life experience is wise. The most successful people I know didn’t make all the perfect choices. They were self aware and earnest. And when they failed, they learned.

Not really. I only question advice based on the logic of that advice. Everyone has their moments. And we’ve all been in a situation where we don’t take the advice we would give someone else. Who am I to judge your past if you’re giving me sound advice?

Whether or not the person takes that advice is up to them.

I mean, my mom's been divorced twice but I would take her relationship advice to my grave. You learn from heartbreak. I've learned from all failed relationships. Honestly, depending on the person (cause some people learn nothing so I'm not gonna listen to them 🤣), I'd take someone who's tried and failed over someone whose relationship has always been easy!
