What do you do for work and what is your plan for childcare?

I'm a social worker and I'm going to pay my mom $400 a month to watch my two daughters. My grandma will keep them when my mom can't.

I'm so glad to live in France - our baby will go to daycare when my maternity leave is over (she'll be 4 months old) with a licensed babysitter right around the corner from us who takes care of our baby plus two others in her home and once a week brings them to the daycare center to do activities with other kids/sitters. The cost is calculated based on your income - we'll pay around €300/month minus the €180/month childcare assistance you get from the state until your child turns 3, so just €120/month for full-time daycare (47 hours a week). Amazing.

I work in research and development for a large food company. My hours are 9-5 M-F so I’ll drop my little one off around 8:30 and pick up by 5:30. He’ll be 4 months when he begins daycare    We live in Texas and thankfully daycare isn’t extremely expensive !!

I work full time as a Quality Partner for a healthcare system, and this baby will join my first child at a registered in-home daycare. We love our childcare provider and the flexibility versus a center. The children go to the library for story time, park and splash pad in the summer, zoo, etc. I don’t have any worries about their care there, definitely makes it easier to return to work.

I work freelance so need to find a flexible sitter so that I have at least two days when I can just work plus days when I need to be on site. Still looking for this person!!

The cheapest daycare I’ve found for infants around me is $420 a week.
The cheapest for my daughter when she turns two in Jan is $273 a week for part time.
Yeah. Yeahhhhhh. No thanks.
