Cervical position?

Alright guys, I’m gonna be honest here. I️ never TRULY know if my cervix is soft or hard (lips, chin or elbow). Mine doesn’t change too much, but I️ can always feel what must be the “dimple”. I️ can not tell for the life of me if it is open or closed. I️ also have fake nails so I’m not going to try to poke up there or anything (some people say you can insert your fingertip, idk). Does anyone actually have a good analogy or just know a way for me to tell if it’s open or closed?
