Flu shot?

Question

Is anyone getting the flu shot? I know I probably should...but I just hate needles. I figure if I can avoid one extra needle, then why not! Just looking to see what everyone else is doing and why?

My doctor recommend it so I got it. Even though it's not as effective this year they said it can still help symptoms not get as severe. I got the shot when I was pregnant with my first and was working in a detention center with sick people coming in and out everyday and never caught anything.

I have MS and unfortunately can no longer get the flu shot. I got once two years ago and it sent my immune system into overdrive and I lost vision in my eyes. This was not the shits fault but rather my disease and how my body reacted. Given that I can’t get it anymore, I beg and plead with all those around me to get it. People like myself with compromised immune systems need herd immunity. When you don’t get a shot it leaves people like me even more vulnerable. Your immune system can handle it, mine can’t. You might be able to handle the flu, it could kill me. Vaccinate people, please.

I never had the flu shot before, but at my first appointment at 9 weeks, they offered it. Since it’s flu season coming up, I decided to get it. It takes 2 weeks to become fully effective. I haven’t had any side effects so far and I’m a little over 11 weeks now. It gave me peace of mind if anything.

I had a flu shot in my last pregnancy as we were travelling internationally and there had been a lot of flu around. I never had one before and haven’t had one since but I had NO side effects and baby was born super healthy and perfect. He’s just turned two.

I got it last pregnancy and will again this time.  it's not worth the risk of getting the flu, having dehydration and risking the health of the baby to me.  the amount of needles you get poked with when pregnant, what's one more?

Definitely yes. Not worth risking the flu while pregnant. The flu while not pregnant is bad enough, but getting an illness like that while pregnant is dangerous and at least partially avoidable if you vaccinate. There is absolutely nothing in the flu shot that can give you the flu. People who say they got the flu right after got it because they caught the flu from somebody before the shot took effect.

My daughter came home with the flu and initially regretted not getting the shot... and then i saw on the news that this years shot is only 10% effective. Wouldn’t have made a difference. I’m skipping it. No substitute for hand washing
