How do I ask my mom about birth control??

Me and my mom aren’t close...neither are me and my dad. And I don’t really just want to go get on it and her just figure it out one day...like I havent even had sex yet but my period is all over... I just feel like it’s something I ought to do now and then not have to worry about it later...advice please...

Did you and your mom ever have a sex talk or has she told you to just not do it? I would just tell her "Mom, I just want you to know that I am not having sex right now and don't plan to in the immediate future but I want to get on birth control so I will be prepared for when I do decide to have sex. I decided to come talk to you about it instead of going to get it on my own because I want to be able to be open and honest with you. This is just something I would like to deal with before it becomes an issue instead of after."
This conversation really depends on your moms views on sex. If you can, just be honest with her. But there are some people who it is more beneficial to not tell their parents.
If I had a kid, as much as I don't want them having sex, I wouldn't want them to have a teen pregnancy more.

Use condoms, and tell your mom about your period and you’d like to meet with a doctor.

I went to the student health center at my college and I was able to get it without insurance... mines $9 a pack... but anyways if you don’t want to tell your parents it’s an option if you’re okay with paying some money for it. i’m sure planned parenthood does the same thing
