Progesterone shots work in preventing preterm labor

Shari

I had my first child at 35.5 weeks. The specialist that I saw recommended progesterone shots but I wont be able to start them until around 19-20 weeks. He told me that brings my chance of them working to 5%, instead of 10% if I started them at 16 weeks. He also told me the probability of me having this baby earlier than 35 weeks is very high, based on statistics, even though my cervix is currently long and good. Just trying to get some opinions on whether the shots worked for you guys and when you started to get the shots.

Thanks a lot :)
