Long or shorter engagement

We just got engaged and I always wanted to get married in the summer. However, this coming summer (2018) is too soon, but I feel next summer (2019) is so far. Should we wait 9/10 months and get married next September/October or should we wait about a year and a half for early summer 2019? I want enough time to plan it all out but I also don’t want to wait too long and have people lose interest/excitement over it. Money is not a huge factor as we both have a good careers and families who will also help pay. Thoughts? What would you choose?

Update: I’m an accountant so my busy season is January through the end of April. There is no physical way I could plan a wedding for next summer with the amount of hours I will be working. That’s why I said this coming summer is too soon.
