What’s the right thing to do?

So I️ have the app OfferUp and I️ sold this lady a black guess tote for $20 and my description was perfect condition. Which I️ thought I️t was. When she came she gave me the $20 and took the purse and left. Well about an hour later she messages me saying that she’s very disappointed in the purse and stains and rips is what I️ call new and in perfect condition , along with photos of a light brown stain (the inside of the purse is tan with brown G’s) and on one part of the handle there is a string of the lining coming out of the side. I️ told her I️ apologize and she can bring I️t back for her money. Well she was suppose to come at 8pm today but messages me at 5 saying she got off early , we’ll I️ wasn’t home. Then she said she’s going to come tomorrow after 8 but I️ have appointments tomorrow and Thursday at 7:30 and told her that wouldn’t work. Then she goes off again chewing me out saying this is a problem. Tbh she’s been freaking rude this whole time. I️ can own up to my mistake of the purse that’s why I’m giving her the money back but my patience is running low and I️ can’t take the rudeness I’m so close to telling her screw you deal with I️t. And not give her back the money but I️ need some second opinions. This is my first bad deal with someone and I️ have 58 reviews that are 5 stars. My intentions aren’t to screw someone over. Please comment opinions guys!

Honestly I would ignore her! She bought the purse, she saw it right then and there, & she accepted it. it’s $20, she can get over it.

I've noticed a lot of people on offer up will try to take advantage and actually ruin the stuff they buy from you on purpose to try and make you give them their money back without actually giving you the product so they have a product in near perfect condition for free. That's why I stopped using the app. I honestly wouldn't have even answered her especially since there was a whole hour before she messaged you. If she was really that concerned about the quality of the purse she would have looked at it before she left.

She sees the purse in person, and gave you the money and left. I wouldn’t deal w her. She should have inspected and pointed that out before. It’s been too long for you to even believe in her. She’s probably using it and is done w it. Seems like you have enough reviews, and I’d purchase from you regardless cause it’s in person and I’d see what I’m taking home. Ignore her! Lol

I’m not sure if there was even a problem with it. If you’re like me, you probably checked it over and over to make sure that you weren’t ripping anyone off on accident. 
Some lady did the same thing to me. I sold a brand new pack n play for $10 just because I wanted it out of my house. She came and got it and I had folded it up and carried it to her car because she was elderly and even though I was pregnant I didn’t feel right making her carry it. I wake up the next morning to a bunch of nastiness and a bad review and negative comments on the post saying it wouldn’t go up. She wanted her money back but threw the pack n play out. Her daughter ended up messaging me and said that her mom didn’t pull the middle bar up while locking the sides like the directions say and she kept the pack n play. She was trying to rip me off. So yeah, don’t believe it just because she claims there is something wrong with it.

Well honestly it’s not in perfect condition but she should have looked over the purse before handing you the money! I always make sure buyers throughly check over the product before they pay because I state on all my listings that the sale is final/no returns. If she knows where you live then I would just give her the money back to avoid her harassing you... If not, just block her on OfferUp and keep the money. You tried to make things right but now it’s turning into a big run around.

She actually came to collect it from your house. She lost all rights to complain because she should have inspected it before handing over the money. How can she prove that the bag was already damaged before she took it out of your home? Tell her to deal with it 🤷🏻‍♀️

I know I would have looked at the item thoroughly before placing my money in your hands... you said you thought it was in excellent condition, and you have 58 reviews with five stars... something doesn't add up. I would have noticed those purse straps right away... hmmmm. I'd be tempted to keep the money, but honestly, I'd hate to get a bad review. Tell her to keep the purse and send her a 20 in the mail and be done with it. Also, be sure to leave her a review before she leaves you one! Sellers have the right to review their customers as well. You could put down that you sold this lady a purse and she came and looked at the purse, and seemed pleased at first and then she contacted you after the sell was final complaining about the products condition and asking for a refund. You can state that you gave her a refund, but she couldn't meet around your schedule, and seemed to make excuses as to why she couldn't meet with you as your schedule allows. That way, other sellers can be aware and they can sell at their own risk.

Nope, once the deal is done, it's done. She came.. looked at the purse and agreed to take it (obviously) by paying you. If she missed it then it's not your problem. And for a side note, if she threatens to call the cops or whatever don't worry about it because they won't do anything. I've had a few bad run ins with computers and cell phones that I bought from offer up and let go. 👍🏻
